There has been an economic boom these last 2 years. There are 5.3 million new jobs. Unemployment is lower now than over half a century. 157 million people are working. Regulations have been cut and companies are returning to the U.S. We are now the number one producer of oil and gas, and our military is the most powerful on earth. We are taking care of our veterans. The state of the union is strong.
Trump voiced the need for bipartisan action in securing out southern border. Drug cartels must be put out of business, and caravans coming from Central America must be halted. Gangs like MS-13 must be destroyed. Illegal aliens kill Americans. We must continue to support ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
President Trump promised to build the proper wall, a steel barrier, in places with the greatest need. Walls have worked in San Diego and El Paso. Walls save lives. Let's make America safe. USA USA USA USA USA USA!
Bad trade policies have been reversed. The USMCA United States-Mexico-Canada agreement has replaced NAFTA. Tarifs have been imposed on Chinese goods to protect American jobs. We need to bring back our manufacturing jobs to rebuild our infrastructure. We need to lower the cost of health care and to fight cancer. Congress needs to pass legislation that will stop late-term abortions. We must cherish life! All children, born and unborn, are created by God.
When it comes to foreign policy, NATO is finally paying its share. Trump is withdrawing from the INF treaty (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces) with Russia and will probably renegotiate it to include China. We want peace on the Korean Peninsula, and Trump touted his good relationship with Kim. They will meet again February 27/28, in Vietnam. Trump asserted that America was founded on the principles of freedom and will never be a socialist country.
We have fought in the Middle East nearly 2 decades and need a new approach. "Great nations do not fight endless wars!" Trump is bringing our troops home from Syria and will seek a political solution in Afghanistan. Iran must never be allowed to have nuclear weapons.
In closing, President Trump asked Congress to look at our opportunities. He said our biggest victories are yet to come. Let's choose greatness! Let's reignite the American imagination. We are one nation under God! God bless America!!
I am planning to tour Classical Greece in 2019 I never meant to go back to Europe, but this looks like a good trip. Ancient Greece is the cradle of western civilization. I got my third passport.
I talked to Cynthia Griffin at Globus Monograms. She said there is a direct flight to Athens from Philadelphia. The Greece Escape is $799. It looks like I am headed for Greece. Cynthia has tours scheduled between November and March.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrvD3NS-tA8">Rick">Steves' Greece Athens</A>
Rick Steves in Greece - Athens was the center of Europe in the 5th century B.C. The real Parthenon sits on the Acropolis. It was dedicated to the goddess Athena. The adjacent Erechtheum was dedicated to Athena and Poseidon. The Agora is nearby. We think of Socrates and Plato. The temple of Hephaestus is well-preserved. Greek architecture evolved in stages: Doric, Ionic & Corinthian. Ancient Greece peaked and faded as all civilizations do. Rick Steve samples the local cuisine. The Greeks won their independence from the Ottoman Turks in the early 1800s. Rick visits the National Archaelogical Museum. Statues are idealistic. Alexander the Great ruled during the Hellenistic period. Rick heads for the Oracle of Delphi. The temple of Apollo is there. Leaders consulted the Oracle. There is a theater for games.
November 3, 2018 - I attended James' first birthday party. We got along well. He was crawling around. I told Michael that in another year he will be chasing James all over the place. I found my way to Michael's house and back with no help, first time I have done that. I gave James the teddy bear I bought at Target. I wish Karen had been with us.
